The first ever group forum will be for the Naruto Kayou card packs! Many of you that are visiting this site from either the flea market or the Belmont market have most likely seen these card packs I sell. A majority of you may also have no idea what these cards are, or where they came from. In this forum I hope to raise awareness of what these cards are, the different rarities, how the tier and wave system works, and hopefully peak your interest in the cards while encouraging you guys to fan out and trade amongst each other for the cards that you want!
ABOUT THE CARDS
I stumbled upon the cards by accident while looking into anime trading card games and trying to see what I could buy that you guys might be interested in. These cards just so happened to pop up on search and it peaked my interest. I had never heard of a collectible card game for Naruto before, much less one based and operated by a Chinese company. However after doing some digging, I found out that the company Kayou was the Chinese Toys R Us and had the rights to make these cards, however they exclusively sold them in China only. Because of this, you will never see them in major retail markets that sell trading cards, as they will not deal with individual market sellers, but that appears to be the only way to obtain the cards so far.
HOW THEY WORK
Now I am still learning about the cards, but I do have enough knowledge to understand how they work, why they have value, and why there are also so many different boxes of what appears to be the same thing.
How The Wave And Tier System Work
Each tier has a special rarity that is unique to that tier only, and within that tier, certain wave boxes will contain the special rarity usually starting at the 2nd wave and above only. In each wave there are usually certain character cards that can be pulled out of only that specific box. Because of this, you would have to buy from virtually every single box in that tier if you were searching for a specific character card on that rarity. Since each one is different based on character and rarity, you have to look in the box that carries that rarity and guess which one has the character card you want. With all the different boxes this could take forever, hence one of the reasons why the cards have such decent value.
